Class Description: 

Introducing Little Miss POW! She says, “Cakes are my super power!”

Here is your chance for an in-class learning experience to create your own 12″ standing doll cake using Nina’s chocolate platform technique, as well as her ganache sculpting trick! Come along and learn new skills to create your own super doll!

This project uses cake for the body, which Nina will demonstrate to fit project within the accelerated 4-hour class time. Students will be given alternative to cake, but all other components will remain the same to allow maximum decoration time.

Class will include instruction on:
✓ Chocolate shell and platform structure
✓ Secure arms/hands
✓ Chocolate ganache sculpting
✓ Facial expressions
✓ Fondant dressing and details
✓ Painting eyes and shading

Students should bring: small rolling pin, mat, sharp knife, paper towels, apron.

Nina Blackburn runs her Auckland-based business “Make Pretty Cakes” and enjoys teaching and hosting cake decorating classes from her little cake studio in New Zealand and around the world. Her specialty is creating specialty 3D Structured cakes. Her work has been published worldwide in cake magazines, blogs, and e-zines such as
Cake Geek Magazine, Cake Central Magazine, Cake Masters, and ACDN’s Cake! She is an Ambassador for Pettinice fondant and enjoys meeting new cake friends!
